BIOGRAPHY

Anne Grappotte began playing the piano at the age of three. At the age of eleven, she entered the Paris Conservatory, where she was later appointed to the newly created chair of vocal accompaniment in 1977. Throughout her career, she has trained generations of pianists and singers who are now in prominent positions. Successors in the leadership of her class are pianist Anne Le Bozec and Emmanuel Olivier, both of whom were her students and for whom studying with Anne Grappotte was crucial. Anne Grappotte attaches great importance to the exchange and contact between European music academies within the framework of the Erasmus program for students and for professors, which she still maintains today. Important partners for her were and are personalities such as Walter Moore, Hartmut Höll, Christopher Underwood, Gérard Souzay, Christa Ludwig, Irène Aïtoff, Paul von Schilhawsky, Martin Isepp, Noël Lee and Henriette Puig-Roget. Anne Grappotte is regularly invited as a jury member and gives master classes in France and abroad.
