Dr. Hermann Büttner Piano Competition 2022

Since 1998, the Dr. Hermann Büttner Piano Competition has been organised annually by the Karlsruhe lawyer Dr. Hermann Büttner. Since 2017, the renowned competition for the promotion of young musicians has been supported by the Adler Büttner Foundation.
This year's competition is for piano solo. Students of the Karlsruhe University of Music in the Bachelor's, Master's, soloist exam and school music programs as well as pre-school students are eligible to participate.
The competition will be held in two rounds:
First round - a freely chosen program, which must include two etudes, one of which must be by Frédéric Chopin. The rest of the program can be freely filled up with other pieces. The total playing time should not exceed 20 minutes.

The times given are the scheduled times. There may be postponements during the competition.

Second round on Sunday 22nd May - one work by Johannes Brahms (parts of cycles are also possible) and another classical work by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Joseph Haydn or Ludwig van Beethoven. The total playing time should be about 50 minutes.
