Microcosm and Macrocosm - Man and Universe

In philosophy, the relationship between macrocosm and microcosm has preoccupied thinkers since antiquity. This philosophical idea is also illuminated from the musical side in the moderated concert. Seven movements from Béla Bartók's pedagogical piano cycle "Mikrokosmos" and George Crumb's work "Makrokosmos IV - Celestial Mechanics", which was inspired by it, will be juxtaposed. They are joined by two movements from Olivier Messiaen's "Visions de l'Amen", which takes a look at the creation of the world.
