The Institute for Music Informatics and Musicology (IMWI) is an associated partner within the project "on-the-fly" of the Center for Art and Media (ZKM) Karlsruhe.
Within the framework of the "on-the-fly: Live-Coding Hacklab" 2022! from January 28 to 30, all coding enthusiasts can program collaboratively together with international experts. The weekend will open with a variety of exciting live coding performances. Everything will revolve around the connection between live coding and areas such as machine learning, spatial sound and visual programming. There will also be a special on the format of the Algorave. Each of these areas will be supervised by international mentors. Among others, Alexandra Cárdenas, Anna Xambó Sedó, Antonio Roberts, Iván Paz, Lina Bautista and Marije Baalman could be won for this.
On the occasion of and during the two-day Hacklab, the ZKM | Hertz-Labor will also offer master classes (with Shelly Knotts and Olivia Jack, among others – basics in programming required) as well as workshops for beginners (children, teenagers and adults – no previous knowledge in programming required). The results of the workshops will be presented during evening presentations and "from scratch sessions".
The three-day event begins on Friday, January 28, with several live coding performances that represent a broad spectrum of different aesthetics and approaches to audiovisual performance art. In addition to Anne Veinberg, Felipe Ignacio Noriega & Patrick Borgeat (IMWI), Blaž Pavlica and Luka Prinčič, the Artists in Residence Malitzin Cortés & Iván Abreu, Gaia Leandra and Kıvanç Tatar will also present themselves in the livestream.
The hacklab and live coding performances are co-funded by the European Union's Creative Europe program. With "on-the-fly", ZKM, Hangar Barcelona, Creative Coding Utrecht and Ljudmila Art + Science Laboratory have made it their goal to promote the European live coding scene.

· Kids / Teens and Adults workshop with no prior experience (No prior programming experience required).
No registration is required for the livestream of the live coding performances on Friday.
