MAXimal verliebt - Pieces of the Heart for the Reger Jubilee

What is your favourite piece by Max Reger? We asked this question to interpreters and composers, musicologists and conductors, friends of Reger's music. The answers are presented by the Institute for Music Journalism together with the Max Reger Institute in the podcast series "MAXimal verliebt - Herzensstücke von Reger".

On the occasion of the composer's 150th birthday, the interviewees have chosen a "heartfelt piece" that has often accompanied them for decades. Some have played it in their exams, others are drawn to a particular sound or find themselves drawn to Max Reger's complex personality.

"MAXimal verliebt" presents more than a dozen works by Max Reger and tells personal stories connected with them. Included are works such as the "Clarinet Quintet" or the "Mozart Variations", but also little-known pieces such as the "Symphonic Prologue to a Tragedy" or "From Youth". The podcast makes you want to get to know Reger's works (anew) or to rediscover them.

Each of the episodes focuses on a "heartfelt piece by Reger". The podcast series was developed by Bachelor students in the 5th semester of the music journalism programme.
