My name is Edurne Santos Arrastua and I was born in the Basque Country, studied music in Donostia, Stuttgart, Basel and Vienna. My bassoon teacher was Sergio Azzolini among others. With my Spanish wind quintet Haizea I won the Montserrat Alhavedra Chamber Music Competition. I was a scholarship holder of the Oskar and Vera Ritter Foundation. For three years I worked with the Bruckner Orchestra Linz, and ten years with the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen. With both orchestras I have performed at the world's most important festivals and concert halls and with renowned conductors and soloists. I also taught at the Hochschule für Musik Musikene in Donostia for three years as assistant to David Tomàs-Realp.
I play new music at KlangForum Wien, early music on historical instruments with Concerto Köln, Das neue Orchester Köln, the Vienna Academy, the Prisma Ensemble and Concentus Musicus Wien.
