Der Hornist Saar berger

Hornist Saar Berger (*1980) has been a member of the Ensemble Modern since 2007. He studied at the Rubin Music Academy with Michael Slatkin and Chezi Nir in Tel Aviv before joining the Israeli Opera Symphony Orchestra. With the help of scholarships and awards from the Zvi and Ofra Meitar Family Funds and the America-Israel cultural foundation he completed his studies in Berlin with Marie-Luise Neunecker and in Frankfurt with Erich Penzel and Esa Tapani. Saar Berger cooperates closely with many young and internationally established composers and has enriched the already comprehensive horn literature by performing many world premieres of concerts and solo pieces as a soloist. He was a member and horn mentor of the Slokar--Branimir Academy and the international orchestra of Ljubljana. Since 2017 he has been a member of the Horn Faculty of the Lucerne Festival Academy. Saar Berger teaches at the Ensemble Modern Academy and is regularly invited to master classes all over the world. He ist professor at the Hochschule für Musik Trossingen.
