Beginning with Ludwig van Beethoven's Choral Fantasy op. 80, the concert explores a less well-known side of the composer. The title is taken from the Piano Sonatas op. 27, whose no. 2 is the famous "Moonlight Sonata". The Fantasy op. 77 also shows Beethoven's passion for improvisational influences and free forms. It also sounds an attempt to translate Beethoven's fantasy into the present day: An approach to dealing with Beethoven's fantasy in conversation with the performers.

Nancy Allen grew up on Long Island where she played harp, piano and oboe. She studied at the Juilliard School with Marcel Grandjany and already won the 5th International Harp Competition in Israel during this time.
