Events

With more than 500 public events a year, the University of Music Karlsruhe is one of the most far-reaching cultural institutions in the Baden area. In addition to concerts, musical theatre performances, lectures, workshops and symposiums, students and interested visitors as audience members may also participate in master classes and competitions .

Special highlights of the annual calendar of events include the Akademische Feier at the beginning of each semester and the "ZeitGenuss" festival in October, copresented with the Department of Cultural Affairs of the City of Karlsruhe; the New Year's concert in January; children's music festival on Mother's Day in May; and the open air mini festival "Karlsruhe klingt - Music to go!" in Karlsruhe’s city center.

Several concert series also enjoy great popularity:

Freundeskreis PERSÖNLICH

In the event series FreundeskreisPERSÖNLICH - offered for members of the association Freundeskreis der Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe e. V. and their guests - the audience can get to know figures of the university more directly as usual. Dr. h. c. Hans Hachmann, chairman of the association, invites you for these events three times a semester. His topics of conversation are current and particularly interesting projects, the work at the university and with the students, but also questions about the lives and careers of the discussion partners. The music is chosen by the guests themselves.
