Beginning with Ludwig van Beethoven's Choral Fantasy op. 80, the concert explores a less well-known side of the composer. The title is taken from the Piano Sonatas op. 27, whose no. 2 is the famous "Moonlight Sonata". The Fantasy op. 77 also shows Beethoven's passion for improvisational influences and free forms.
