BIOGRAFIE

Uram Kim was born in 1997 in Seoul (Korea) and had his first experiences on the piano and violin at the age of three. From 2003 he received piano lessons from Jinhee Park, and from 2006 from Gahyang Woo. In 2003 he also began to compose and gained experience with various other instruments. He received numerous first prizes as well as the Grand Prix at the Daehan Music Newspaper Piano Competition and the Korean Music Association Competition. He has also been invited to various music festivals abroad. Among the prizes, first prize at the IV International Piano Competition Wiesbaden (2009), the German National Competition "Jugend musiziert" (2011 solo, 2012 four-hands) and the International Piano Competition Rome (2014) deserve special mention. In 2008, Uram Kim moved to Germany and first received piano lessons from Johanna Heutling at Dr. Hoch's Conservatory in Frankfurt before beginning his studies with Prof. Sontraud Speidel at the Karlsruhe University of Music in 2013 at the age of 16.
