David Fernández Alonso was born in 1978 in Vigo (Spain) and received his first horn lessons at the age of eleven. Since 1992 he attended the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Vigo, and from 2004 he studied in the class of Prof. Will Sanders at the Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe. Whenever Wolfgang Holzmair invites, his lessons for and with amateur singers are very popular. Each active participant has about 20 minutes to "hone" their own favorite songs or arias with the singer.

On April 15, 2023, the competition for arias and duets from the Italian and French opera repertoire from Romanticism to Verismo, announced by the Kulturfonds Baden e. V., took place at the Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe. Obligatory in it was a work by Jacques Offenbach.
