Hartmut Höll, piano

The programme consists of 19th and 20th century Polish songs by Stanisław Moniuszko (1819-1872), known above all for his songs and his operas, by Mieczysław Karłowicz (1876-1909), whose work is reminiscent of Richard Strauss, by Karol Szymanowski (1882-1937), who "sought to create not for yesterday, but for today and tomorrow", but rarely crossed the boundaries of tonality.
