Dietmar Loeffler – pianist, composer, director, playwright and producer – describes himself as a 'Gesamtkunstwerker' and passionate theatre maker. His diverse artistic skills and curiosity enable him to bring together and realise unusual ideas into a unity.

After a solid classical training as a concert pianist in Germany, France and Switzerland, he pursued a career as a pianist, song accompanist and university lecturer. Full of artistic curiosity and always on the lookout for new challenges, he became musical director in successful productions such as André Heller's "Wintergarten", the musicals "Beauty and the Beast" and "The Lion King".
Social themes from interpersonal, social and socio-political areas inspire Dietmar Loeffler to a great extent. For example, his highly acclaimed musical evening of longing "Die große Freiheit" (2016, Hamburg Theaterschiff) deals with the worldwide movement of refugees and combines Arabic-English music with German sea shanties. Here Loeffler makes it clear that music is a universal world language that can overcome borders and unite cultures.
