Pianist Hyunhee Hwang was born in Seoul (South Korea) and began playing the piano at the age of six.
She studied at Hansei University in the Bachelor's program in the class of Prof. Igaki Hideyuki and from 2014 at the University of Music Karlsruhe in the Master's program in the class of Prof. Roman Zaslavsky and graduated with honors. Since 2017 she studied piano solo in the soloist exam course and since 2021 piano chamber music in the soloist exam course in the class of Prof. Markus Stange.
She received additional impulses at master classes with Oxana Yablonskaya, Pascal Devoyon, Christin Wilm Müller, Eldar Nebolsin, Hui-Youn Choi, Menahem Pressler, Thomas Kreuzberger, as a member of the Absolute Classic Festival Orchestra with conductor Hanna Chang and Music Alps SeongNam Festival with professors of the Zurich University of the Arts.
She won the 1st prize at the "Concorso Internazionale per musicisti. Campochiaro", 1st prize at the "Seoul Royal Symphony Orchestra Seoul" and "Concorso Internazionale di Esecuzione Don Vincenzo Vitti". She is also a prize winner of "Dr. Hermann Buettner Piano Competition 2018", "Korea Germany Brahms Association", "Concorso Internazionale per Giovani Musicisti (Città di Barletta).
In Spain in 2016, she performed Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 23 in A major, K. 488, accompanied by the Kyiv Chamber Orchestra conducted by Dmitry Yablinsky.
In addition to her studies, she accompanied students as a tutor in the subject of repetition at the Karlsruhe University of Music. Currently she is a scholarship holder of the Yehudi Menuhin Foundation "Live Musik Now Oberrhein" and a lecturer in the piano compulsory subject at the Karlsruhe University of Music.
